"Big picture" editing. Focus is on structure, plot, character development, pacing, theme, point of view, etc. Goal is to improve overall storytelling and development of piece.

These two steps go hand-in-hand.

Line:  Focus is on writing style, clarity, and voice. I work with adjusting awkward phrasing, unnecessary repetition, telling vs. showing, and consistency in dialogue.

Copy:  Focus is on correcting spelling, grammar, punctuation, and commonly confused words while ensuring consistency with capitalization, numeral format, etc.

(Combining this with developmental editing would be $0.07/word.)

The last step (typically after your book has been formatted for publication.) The focus is on making copy as error-free as possible including, but not limited to, typographical errors, layout, and page numbers.
